The Alzheimer’s memory walk for Murfreesboro took place Saturday, Sept.7th
at the Gateway Park and CCRC’s Memory Warriors were there in full force.
Our team raised over $3500.00 for this cause that is near and dear to our hearts.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed and helped to make this day
such a success. We would also to like to recognize Mrs. Hazel Couto for raising
$500.00 and joining the Champion’s Club of The Alzheimer’s Association.
As many of you know we participate in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk every year.
Well the walk is fast approaching and last week several of us attended a derby
themed kick off luncheon to get us motivated. We were given a challenge to increase the
the number of teams that walk this year as well as the funds raised for the
Alzheimer’s Association. Here at CCRC we will be hosting a community yard sale
on Friday, July26th and Saturday, July 27th from 7am until 3pm. We are asking that
you bring in any unwanted items you have to the activities department for us to sell.
All proceeds will benefit the Memory Walk that will be held on Saturday,
September 7th at Gateway Park by the St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. If you
would like to take part in the walk please feel free to contact a member of activities
or register online at alz.org. Community Care’s team name is CCRC’s Memory
Warriors and Shannon Thomison and Phil Sanders are the team captains.
