February Alzheimer’s Support Group

This evening, February 21st, will be our next Alzheimer Support group. It will be held in the conference room at 5:00 p.m. Originally our topic was to be hospice care and Malik Hunt from Avalon Hospice as our guest speaker. We now will be having Mailk on March 21st instead. During the February meeting we will be discussing ways on how to “be present” with our loved ones with Alzheimer’s. CCRC: A Walk to End Alzheimer’s

goldieThis year the Murfreesboro Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on October 29th. The location of this years walk will be at the MTSU Track and Soccer Field 1848 Blue Raider Drive in Murfreesboro. The ceremony will start at 8am with the official start of the walk at 9am. As always we encourage family members and volunteers to walk with us to support our loved ones. Residents who are attending the walk will arrive at the MTSU Track and Soccer Field at 8am. If you would like to to register for the walk or make a donation please fill out the form below and bring it to Community Care before October 25th. Trick or Trunk or Treat at CCRC

Join us on October 28th at 6 pm for CCRC’s Trick or Treat party. We are opening the doors to the community to Trick or Treat with our residents! We will also have a costume contest for the kids. The contest will be held in the H and I dayroom. The age brackets will be the best dressed girl and boy from 0-5 and best dressed girl and boy from 6-12. Parents and adults don’t forget to dress up also! Residents will be at their doorways or common areas anxiously waiting to hand out candy to the kids! There will also be a family friendly trunk-or-treat outside in our parking lot. If anyone would like to participate in the trunk-or-treat please contact Heather King at heatherking@rutherfordcountytn.gov.  You will need to decorate your trunk and provide your own candy to participate. There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk! We are excited to see you here!


Chili Cookoff for United Way

Join us on October 15th starting at 12 noon for some football, tailgate party, games and a chili cook off! There will be a grand prize for the best pot of chili and for the best decorated tailgating setup. You do not have to tail gate to enter the chili cook-off. This event will be a fundraiser for United Way of Rutherford and Canon Counties. We are welcoming back Dallas Remington, an artist featured in our Last Saturday Summer Concert Series, to perform for us. This is also the day of the Tennessee vs. Alabama game; we will be projecting the game on the front lawn of CCRC. This event is open to the community and free of charge. There will be opportunity to give a donation of your chosen amount. Please contact Nathan Reed for information on participating in Chili Cook-off or other questions concerning the event.
