Services and Activities

Activities

Each resident is encouraged to express their interests by participating in activity programs that provide opportunities to learn new skills, develop hobbies, and socialize with other residents. If group participation is not possible, one-on-one interaction is offered. Monthly and daily calendars feature unique activities that encourage participation and interactions.

It’s not just bingo at Community Care! Our activities are designed to stimulate memory, engage the senses, and provide interaction and education. On any given day, elders may be participating in a Question and Answer session about health, a cooking class in our Activity kitchen, or a community outing to Bell Buckle for ice cream or lunch at a local restaurant.

We always encourage residents to stay connected to the community! Our residents host Bake Sales and fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for various causes including the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, Toys for Tots, and United Way. Our residents volunteer locally as needs arise in our community as well.

Activities at CCRC are resident-driven and designed to fulfill spiritual, physical, psychological and intellectual needs. Intergenerational activities are a daily experience for residents with our onsite child daycare!

CCRC’s adaptive computer system called “It’s Never 2 Late” (IN2L) enables many of our residents to utilize computers for fun and communication. Elders can customize their own screen, surf the World Wide Web, and enjoy e-mail access to friends and family. The applications engage elders and create excitement and maximize community participation. The system promotes independence and provide cutting-edge opportunities for lifelong learning as well as connecting elders with the greater community and enhance the relationships of elders with their families and friends. IN2L system uses the most sophisticated technology available and as a result make using a computer easier than ever regardless of limitations. IN2L’s adaptive computer system has been designed to encourage elders to interact with family, friends, the Internet and customized programs. By striving to provide a whole new level of person-centered care, IN2L empowers elders to self-initiate their own activities, therapies and other programming.
